500ml? Draft. Labeled as an imperial beer, bartender told me it was a "red with honey"
Pours a solid finger of off-white head into a mug. Retention is good. Lacing is sturdy. Body is a deep orange-bronze. Looks nice.
Nose is malty, Maillard, maybe some caramel, not getting the honey. Slightly astringent. Smells alright.
Flavor is malty and very clean. Maybe a touch of floral honey. Nice but not a lot of depth.
Carbonation is soft. Body is medium. Bitterness is relatively low. A touch of sweetness. Overall a little under carbonated but it's a good mouthfeel, well balanced.
Good drinkability, sessionable. Imperial is a stretch but I guess this is on the higher end and doesn't drink like it.
Overall an nice brew. Red is also stretch, more amber style, maybe could pass as an Irish red. Could benefit from a more complex malt bill or more forward hops.
