Tasted on-tap 11/06/06 at Jobber's Canyon brewpub in Omaha, NE.
Very light brown in color with a low off-white head. Had an aroma and flavor that seemed to be very light. Lightly nutty without any other character to hold onto. Light bodied and almost watery. There may even have been something a bit off about this one.
Unfortunately, a very simple English Brown Ale without much character.

My parents brought me a growler to Iowa City from this new brewpub in Omaha. It's a pretty good brown ale, but nothing spectacular. I'll have to try it fresh since the carbonation seems to be pretty much gone by now.
The beer pours to a clear nutty brown with ruby highlights. Hardly a millimeter of white head that recedes to a film in seconds (likely due to the growler).
The smell is of caramelized malt and some chocolate. Only a bit of a light roasty sweetness and some nutty aromas. The taste follows the nose quite faithfully. Sweet up front leading into a gentle bitterness. Lots of earthy flavors, along with caramel and chocolate.
The mouthfeel is a bit thin. Has a bit of a bite and a sharp bitterness. Very slight metallic finish. Drinkability is decent. I could probably go through the whole growler.
