Before the current style of Paper Citys' Winter Solstice, there was this remarkable Triple.
Poured hazy dark orange, light to medium carbonation, with a rocky white head that fell quick to a crescent.
Aromatics are a treat.
Candied fruits and phenols dominate.
Grape bubblegum, crystalized ginger, a hint of husky malt.
Finishes in the nose with lavender, cloves, orange blossom honey, and warming alcohol.
Light to medium bodied and juicy on the pallet.
Full flavored, with fruit coated malt, hard candies, sugar coated pineapple.
Well done, smooth, offsetting spicey bitterness finishes along with submissive alcohol.
Lingering hints of a Gerwertztraminer.
I've always wished that Paper City would do this one again, and lack of carbonation beside, this triple has improved over the years.
Bottle conditioning would have kept the carbonation in check.
