The beer poured with a bright, dark orange appearance and a thin head. But as I drank the beer, the head or any lacing evaporated. Basically, no froth whatsoever. Aromas were pretty good with a dried fruit smell potently sweet. Mixture of bananas, pears, pineapples wrapped around a very faint wheat aroma. The taste is way sweeter than I would have wanted. Still retains a great flavoring and natural sweetness, but be prepared for a heavy, fruity sweetness. Mouthfeel was a bit flat, lacking a carbonated punch at all. Still, its wateryness was refreshing for the hot summer nights. Overall, not too bad.

This beer pours a cloudy yellow color with light sediment. There is light carbonation. My pour resulted in a quarter inch head that lasted for about 6 to 8 minutes.

The bouquet was of powdery yeast and lemon zest. The old sniffer didn't seem to pick anything else up. The lemon was pronounced, but not overpowering.

Upon first sip, the beer had pronounced lemon and citrus tastes. This was toned down on the later sips and replaced by the wheaty-yeast taste i expect in a lighter bodied weiss.

The beer is medium bodied, lots of character, but easy on the taste buds and the stomach. Not overly filling, due in part to the reasonable carbonation.

This is a very agreeable wheat for the summer months. One that is definately worth having around. Tasty for the ladies, tasty for the guys.

Nice cloudy, yellow body with a pillowly white head that leaves ample lacing.

Bannana and cloves and some pepper.

Taste is the same as the smell but with a sour twang.

Mouthful is a nice taste and feel.Carbonation is heavy but its nice.

I like this beer but there are other Hefe's out there that are way better but this one makes me happy.

The beer pours a gold color with a 1/2" white head that quickly fades to spotty lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a nice pale and wheat malt scent along with a fruity, banana/clove yeast aroma. The taste is decent. It has a traditional hefe flavor, but it's a bit soft on the CO2 and watery in the finish. The mouthfeel is average. It is a full bodied beer with less than adequate carbonation. This is an average hefe. The appearance lacks a true head and the taste seems plain and uninspired. It's one and done for me.

The beer poured a nice yellow, some lingering head, not much lacing. The smell is lemony mop water, definitely the low point of the beer. This doesn't have the delicious smell of other Hefe beers, which is too bad. The taste is subdued lemon, not very citrusy, there is some banana, maybe a little pineapple too. There isn't that much carbonation, a bit watery and mild for a Hefe. I prefer the tangier almost champagne yeast bite of other German Hefes and this doesn't have it. There is some bite in the middle, but it is lacking. The aftertaste is very mild and subdued. Not a bad beer, but why not go for a real German Hefe Weiss which is much better.

Paper City Cabot Street Wheat
12 oz brown bottle
Served in a Hacker-Pschorr Weisse glass

Pours a mustard yellow with a decent head top.

Pleasant nose with whiffs of spices, rotting banana and wheat.

A dry wheat backbone lends to a thirst quenching type beer. Major hints of banana, spicy cloves and zesty lemon juice.

Easy to drink and refreshing, but doesn't hold that specific flavor that you can usually only get from an authentic German hefe-weizen. This was nice, but barely stacks up to the real thing.

Perfect pale yellow. Small whitish cap of foam turns to a skim and firm collaring within a minute. Very minimal lacing decides to stick.

Aroma has an evident clove spice to it over a decently placed and snap of fresh, tangy, paled, wheat bread and a slice of banana.

Flavor has a nice wheat base of paled breadyness and a slight fresh tang of dough. Keeps its a good pace throughout the whole palate and has nice length to its character. Sliced banana slips into the finish along with very dull pear and pineapple.

Good creamy body full of solid wheat tones and freshness that has a gripping little edge of crispness within its well-rounded medium body.

A nice wheat beer. Solid, and tasty enough with wheat, but does lacks some complexity I like out of a hefe.

A - Pale slightly hazy straw color. One finger slightly fizzy head leaves reasonble amount of lacing.

S - Fresh wheat and faint bananna esters.

T - Grainy wheat bite rounded by malt sweetness and light banana/clove flavors.

M - Light body, though heavier (in a good way) than most hefe's.

D - Solid warm weather drinkin' beer.

Pours a bright orange, hazy, with a bubbly white head that receded quickly.

Smells like cloves for sure, very musty and spicy with the skin of mort fruit.

This is the first time I've actually tasted banana in a wheat beer. It's right at the start and then way at the end of the finish. The flavor is sweet but sharp and tart. Lemon and slight bubblegum/candy sweetness. Spiciness at the back of the throat.

With this beer, I think I'm getting a grasp on this style. I think I'm beginning to understand what it's about. I'll have to explore some others now.

Pours light to medium amber, translucent. 1.5 finger foamy head with huge bubbles, moderate retention. Smell is dominated by the malts. Taste is very good, containing nice flavor without sacrifice. Malts and yeast are nicely incorporated in this one. A very enjoyable hefe imho.

Pours with a two-finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium bodied. Nose is yeasty. Light-medium carbonation. Starts sweet and crisp finishes smooth with some yeast. Good Hefe on a warm (84) summer day like today. $1.65 from Colonial Liquors, Acton, Ma.

appearance: Poured a nice deep golden, nice little head, very bubbly.
smell:banana, clove, and a hint of cinnamon.
taste:mild, hints of banana, clove.
reminded me a bit of a Franziskaner,in taste but not mouthfeel.
mouthfeel:watery.tangy, well carbonated.but not as creamy as my favorites of this style.
drinkability: very good,easy and smooth.
I enjoyed this beer, I think it would have rated higher if only it had a better mouthfeel, but not bad, I would drink this again.

Pours a cloudy yellow-gold, topped with a three finger foamy white head. Leaves full bands of lacing.
Clove and banana aroma, pear.
Clove dominates the taste as well as the aroma, spicy, grass, note of lemon.
Light-medium body, a bit too sweet, could be drier/crisper.

What a great pour!I havent seen a head that tall in awhile.PCB's Cabot street wheat poured a thick frothy solid white head that lingered and left a lace around my whole glass. It smelled of bananas with a citrus twist. The color was a cloudy light yellow. It yielded a banana wheaty taste with a touch of sour lemon at the finish. It leaves a dry feeling in the mouth with virtually no aftertaste.A very good light beer for a hot summer day!

This may be an improvement on an American wheat, but as a German-style Hefe - it misses the mark. Way too many bittering hops which gives it a bitter, grassy flavor. At least they are using a german hefe yeast strain- a step in the right direction. If they would just cut back on the hops, they could have one delicious beer.

This is one of the least flavorful wheat beers I have ever tasted. Almost clear color and a light body, the absence of taste was a real downer. I wouldn’t try this one again.
