This was actually the first stage of my New England samplings this weekend. My sister had picked some of these up before I got there. At first it seemed OK. Sort of Bock-like (it says as much on the label).
But it has a skunkiness that wears thin as you progress through repeated sampling. This is not a style I usually prefer, so I would cut it some slack, but I don't intend to seek out this brew (I would prefer to avoid it) or this brewery. There doesn't seem to be anything about it to make me sit up and take notice.

The appearance is honey-yellow. Puffy white head that shrinks quickly. Very clear, little bubbles. All told, pretty average.
The scent is mild, inoffensive light lager aroma, with a hint of grassy, leafy elements. Would be a disaster if not for the hint of leaves and grass. Still, almost no depth.
The taste is pleasant enough, like a pilsner malt with a weird, flowery, grassy hop. Bitter Euro malts come in later. The earthiness is welcome to ward off the banality of the adunct-like malts.
The feel is a little ashy, but a smooth sipper. A little Heineken-like dryness. Highly drinkable, just not chock full of flavor. All in all a decent summer beer. Halfway between craft and macro.

Poured this straight from the tap myself at P.C.B during a beer collectibles show.At 8Am it seemed like the best choice. It was very different than the usual light Spring Ale.It was a dark Brown with great mouthfeel. It had a bready and very malty taste. It was alot thicker with more body than other Spring Ale's.It had a high drinkability with me and about 30 other people.A medium bodied Ale with creamy texture that rolled off the tongue. It almost tasted like Magic Hat's Humble Patience.I enjoyed it and will certainly buy it again.
