quite surprised how much i liked this one. pear doesnt usually work super well in beer, at least in y experience, so it was a delight to see this one not being too perfumy or anything. people forget, dry dock was making sour beers years ago, before it was the cool thing to do, and they have worked out a lot of the kinks some of their followers are still facing. this is soured expertly, just enough pucker to be refreshing, not so sour you wouldnt want to drink a whole bunch of it. lactic sourness, light wheat malt base, lemon notes, and a true fresh green pear complexion without the bath and body works artificiality. hard to do and they have nailed it. i especially like the lack of sweetness while still keeping the fruit flavor high in this, its hard to do. its also still fairly wheaty, which means its more beer than juice, a common pitfall among fruited front end sour beers, nice work there too! carbonation is high and the body is light, this is great summer beer, and obviously something that would make a cool beer blend. i could see it in anything from ipa to big stout working well. nice to see these guys not resting too hard on apricot blonde...
