Inspired by New England IPAs, this brew imparts juicy hints of mango, peach, pear and citrus aroma, with a silky oat finish. We used a healthy dose of spelt and oats and dry hopped with copious amounts of Mosaic, Ekuanot and other exotic hop varieties.
“We’re really excited to add Dry Dock IPA to our Home Fleet,” says Dry Dock Head Brewer Alan Simons. “It’s unfiltered and crafted to showcase specially selected, fruit forward hops. This beer has quickly become a favorite of the entire production crew and we hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.”

Poured into an IPA glass. Hazy golden color with a modest white head. Unclear how old this is, but the aroma is nice with pear, mango, tangerine, and some resin. The taste follows with pear and mango. Moderately bitter more reminiscent of a traditional American IPA. Good bready malt balance with medium body. A nice IPA.

the latest hoppy offering from dry dock, and i think its better than the other ipa hop abomination that they had out in the cans for so long. this is more new school, more on trend with what people are drinking, heavily dry hopped with that now instant classic and often copied juicy hop profile. aroma here is very much like some of the popular east coast types, mosaic hops for miles! all aroma and no bitterness, tropical fruits, hop oils, insanely fresh. where this one slips a little bit i think is on the grain side, it tastes and feels a little heavier than it needs to for these hops, and it loses some of its drinkability because of it. some crystal malts give it the lightest caramelized element, and it runs counter to the lightness of the hops, not heavy necessarily, just not congruent. at 7% abv, its a little stronger than i was going to drink a sixer of anyway, but i really think a little less of the darker barley would be smart for it. i love the hop complexion though, and i like how effervescent this is, its definitely ipa for beer people, robustly flavored and not dumbed down in any way at all. sometimes i forget that dry dock was and is a lot more than just that apricot blonde they do, despite it being everywhere and quite obviously the horse they have hitched their wagon to. this is solid ipa, very much in the style of the day, and well made. i liked it a lot.

Poured from can a golden haze with a big head. Plenty of sediment in there so not sure of all the other comments about it not being NE style enough...Slightly dank scent with a borderline spicy taste to go along with the fruitiness and subdued hops. Thick and just juicy enough. This is a really good beer. Glad Dry Dock is stepping up their game finally.

Poured from a can at a local theatre. Golden color, smells of fruit, tastes of fruit, hops, quite delicious with just enough of a hop bite to keep me from slugging it down on this hot night. Really good.

So from what I know about the NE style I would probably knock this IPA significantly as it doesn't check the boxes of hazy orange/pineapple juice with a soft mouth-feel. The problem with doing that is that is that this is just too good of an IPA to give a low score. So for those of you looking for a true CO representation of the sought after NE style go to Odd 13, Weldwerks, Outer Range, Cerebral or Cerberus in CO Springs. But if you are a fan of all sorts of IPA's then definitely check this out!
L - Look is a bright, slightly hazy, golden orange. Looks great except I got a decent bit of off white protein chunks floating around. Since it isn't turbid, they stuck out like a sore thumb. I am pretty sure this is an initial QC issue on a new beer so I will update when I revisit.
S- Fruit all the way. Tropical, stone fruit and a tad bit of citrus. This is where it hits the NE style marks in stride.
T- Follows nose but with a slight bit of pine mixed in. Perceived bitterness is not high for an IPA but higher than some NE interpretations. Reminds me of Odell IPA, juicy banger (less bitter though).
M - Bitterness carries through on the palate. Slick because of higher ABV and drier than the soft mouth-feel you come to expect from a NE style.
So overall, a great IPA - but does not hit some of the expectations for NE style.. BUUUT since I don't really care about that it gets high marks for me.

The new IPA from Dry Dock is a NE influenced IPA, but without the turbidity and haze. To me, the NE haze is a turnoff, both visually and feel. This one pours almost clear and that's the difference between tap and can versions: the kegs don't seem to have the haze. Anyway, aroma of tropicals is gangbusters; mango, passion fruit some papaya. Flavor is more passion fruit focuses on me, and for me it's not as crisp as other IPAs. But, it's still really delicious and at 7% it drinks easy.

Poured from a can with what I suspect is a best by date of July 2017 (this is becoming a pet peeve of mine, a freshness date should be clear folks, and this isn't just this particular 6 pack, as I have passed two other times on buying this for this reason); into a pint glass.
Appearance- definitely unfiltered, with a hurricane of carbonation and floating funk; medium thick, creamy white head! Lacing is thick and sticky!
Smell - very tropical with pineapple and mango, as well as peach and pear!
Taste - more mango flavor than pineapple, though the bitterness is more pineapple; peach and pear complement the flavor profile.
Feel - somewhat light, but excellent bitterness throughout the sitting without being overwhelming!
Overall - really good beer in all aspects, however, even though I'm a big fan of unfiltered brew, this one is a bit over the top, and quite honestly, I am turned off by the lazy attempt at a freshness date, and I am going to start to completely avoid all beers that are not clearly identified.

This is Dry Dock's newest IPA, and it's the New England-style brew that is starting to get very popular in these parts. It's not so bitter or piney like most regular IPAs, and you do get a lot of the fruitiness typical of the New England version, but it's not cloudy or hazy at all, and that's one of the defining characteristics of this new style. So I can't give it full marks for authenticity, but it was tasty.

Copper beer, full inch of head, maybe more even, but it takes off pretty quick just like that dude you hooked up with from the bar the next morning. Aroma was basic c hops.
Bitterness is the prime mover and shaker flavor wise (if that is a flavor). Malt heft is there. Nothing added in the mouthfeel. An average ipa.

On tap at Falling Rock last year. Copper color, 1.2" white head on it, quickly dissipated and vanished, leaving inconsistent lace, splotchy. Aroma was basic Cascade grapefruit notes.
Taste, ugh, the bitterness really obscured the other flavors. This needs some other C hops to help it out. Its a little malty, but just has a minor abrasiveness to the bitterness that isn't balanced or complimented by much else. For whatever reason, the above average malt bill just doesn't help out.
Mouthfeel just continued down the same path as the taste. Bitter without an entourage backing it up. Not terrible, terribly mundane and one dimensional.

Brought home a growler from the brewpub, third day open in its new location.
Caramel colored, with a short white head. Good clarity. Nice rings of lace clinging to the glass as I sip.
Cirtusy, hoppy aroma. Nice malt base, kinda toasty with a bit of darker kilned malt biscuit. Very lively hops. Vibrant.
Nice hoppy flavor, with a solid malty backbone. Pretty clean, with just a little ale fruitiness. Lightly biscuity and grainy, with some caramel sweetness. Full bodied, with milder carbonation. Very sippable and delicious. Hoppy, but not overly bitter. Plenty of malt sweetness to balance it out.
