Poured from a growler into a Dogfish Head snifter. Beer is a hazy, copper color with a small, off-white head. Very light carbonation and minimal lacing around the glass.
Aroma is sweet and balanced by light, citrus hops. The rye is there along with some caramel.
Taste was slightly bitter, but very balanced and drinkable. Not overpowered by the hops. Sweeter than a pale ale, but not as bitter and with more body. Kind of tough to put my finger on this one, but it's a winner.
Highly sessionable beer and very tasty. I don't drink a lot of rye beers, but this was a nice change. My wife and I split the growler with some friends over dinner.
