Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a reddish drake brown crystal clear body with 2 fingers of off white to tan head were present. After a couple minutes the head recedes to a fine thin covering and ring around the glass. Light delicate lacing forms throughout the first half of the beer.
Aroma is right on style except for a slight yeasty sulfur aroma that suggests this beer was a bit green or fermentation temp wasn't controlled adequately. Otherwise some nutty and toasty dark malts come through holding the whole thing up as well as some British style yeast esters bringing some dark fruits.
Taste is much better (sulfur off notes like this are usually just in the aroma) and I fully nutty and malty with a very light sweetness. Despite all the malt, this is a relatively dry beer. One again British yeast comes through nicely if not a bit strongly.
Feel is full with a medium finish, bit again on the palate this is a relatively dry beer. This doesn't take away from the body which I greatly appreciate. This beer is very attenuated.
Overall this was decent, but I wish that single off flavor wasn't here otherwise it would score much much higher. I love nutty toasty malts, and English styles which this is, but excess sulfur lightly dampened the experience.
