a really nice american red on at at the brewery in aurora. pours a lovely brick red color but with a very small head that fades out fast. smells great, very hoppy, almost fresh hop essences. definitely some more aggressive varieties in here, piney and citrusy at the same time, with a nice red malt backing. flavor is definitely hop forward, with more of the juicy pine vibes coming through. crisp and clean in the finish, not common for the style. mouthfeel was solid, nice bright carbonation and a bigger body for a red, but plenty drinkable. this is a great pint of beer, and a nice american take on a red ale.

On tap at the brewery served to pint glass the beer arrives a hazy murky amber brown color with a 1.5 finger tannish head. The nose is mild with a sweet caramel presence. Not as much hop character as you'd expect in an American red but it's nice. The flavor is a malty creamy caramel malt with a light earthy hop prescribe. So smooth, like cream really, nice. Medium bodied an well carbonated. Overall not what I expected but very enjoyable.
