This one pours a murky, rick brown with minimal head. Looks thick and inviting.
Aroma is soft everything--caramel, vanilla, bourbon, raisin, overripe apples.
This is a good beer in that the aging doesn't dominate the flavors, but it is the star of the show. The vanilla and oak and caramel linger around. And just when you think they'll dominate, the raisin and soft dark fruits come to the rescue. Is it sweet? Well, kind of. It's not dry, but the sweetness isn't sugary like some Quads.
Probably could use more body or feel, but otherwise this is pretty darn good.
