A classic Irish red with a rich malt bill producing a deep amber colour and smooth flavour.

Jasper 22/7 2018. 50 cl on tap on Jasper Brewing’s Brewpub. While waiting for Via Rail again.
Pours clear red amber with small white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweet but subdued due to the cold serving temperature. Gets stronger as it warms up Sweet caramel, lightly roasted dark malts with hints of toffee.
Soft carbonation. Soft, slightly thick, texture.
Flavor has fairly strong sweetness followed by notable bitterness. Aftertaste is surprisingly bitter and roasted, Lingering.
Might not be red as a Fire Engine but certainly a decent Irish Red.
