Hand delivered from Minsk to Moscow (thanks Mark!), this brew comes in a stubby little 33cl green bottle with a gold and blue label featuring the coat of arms of the HofbrÀuhaus above the name. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 11/14/05, I opened it on 10/8/05.
Pours a solid clear gold under a 1/2 finger white head that lingers just a bit but cannot muster any lace. The nose is very faint, almost undetectable, with just a hint of malt. The mouth is light and very prickly. Good flavor profile typical of the style, starting with some sweet malt, but the Hallertau hops don't take long to quick in. Crisp, spicey bitterness leaves a nice dry ache at the back of the mouth. Clean, no skunk. A solid effort.
