Hand-carried from Minsk to Moscow (thanks, Mark), this one comes in a stubby 33cl green bottle with a gold and blue label featuring the Hofbräu symbol above the letters. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 11/10/05, I opened it on 10/15/05.

Pours a fairly standard clear gold under a 1/2 finger white head that fades very quickly, leaving no lacing. The nose has a bit of mild cabbage skunk to go with the malt. The mouth is quite prickly and a touch on the heavy side. Taste is not bad, with some grainy bread up front and quite of bit of spicey, slightly metallic hops providing a kick and a good dose of dryness. Feels like Czech hops to me, faifrly assertive, slightly skunked and ultimately pleasing to the pallet. The spice lingers longest in the aftertaste. Not bad at all, really.
