Had it at the brewery in a pint glass. Dark amber color, no head. Very delicious.

More maple on the palate than the nose, but still not overwhelmingly so. Very well balanced and delicious, while it doesn't have the flavors of most other doppelbocks, it conforms loosely to the style and the addition of subtle maple-flavor makes it quite delicious.

Look and smell - normal for both
Taste and feel - sweet maple syrup but with a good nutty backbone. Medium carbonation and light body.
Overall - pretty good but lacing in body

Enjoyed from a growler from Jungle Jims in a Delirium Snifter, this doppelbock pours a rich reddish brown with a moderate light tan head and spotty lacing. Nose of light sweet malts of maple syrup, bready malts, light grains, and strong alcohol. Flavors are up front sweet with the maple not overly done adding a nice depth while blending nicely with flavors of dark bread crust, caramel malts, and strong alcohol to the rear. Decent carbonation makes for an easy drinker with a sweet aftertaste that is far from unpleasant. Very nice indeed.
Cheers
