Marketed as "Weissbier" internationally. In USA sold as "Hefe-weizen"

It’s the #1 wheat beer in Germany and one of the world’s favorites. In fact, beer experts call it a masterpiece. In developing this beer, the Paulaner brewmasters have perfected a unique technique with “yeast suspension,” resulting in a uniform, slightly cloudy appearance, consistent quality, and perfect taste.

On tap at Jungle Jim’s, poured into a plastic cup.

Look: Cloudy dull orange, with a tiny white head that rather quickly receded to a slight foam cap and abundant finely-bubbled lacing.

Nose: Roasted malt, dominant clove.

Taste: Understated malt flavor in the attack, followed by clove and banana; slight hop bitterness to finish, then the banana continues.

Mouthfeel: Light/thin, with plenty carbonation.

Overall: Very drinkable; not as full a malt flavor as I might have expected. I wouldn’t turn another one down were it offered to me, but I think I’ll stick with what I experience as the fuller flavor of Weihenstephaner’s Hefe.

This beer looked amazing when I poured it looked like the finest beer I had seen in a while. The beer was hazy and a deep gold. The head was about a inch and it was nice and frothy. The smell was bread like and I picked up some fruity smells, I picked up some hops also. Now I drank it and it tasted very bready and to me tasted somewhat like banana bread. The feel was nice and did not taste over carbonated. The aftertaste is a little strong but not too bad and the hops aren't to strong at all which I like. Overall this is a great wheat beer, the aftertaste is the only thing I don't like. As of now I have not had a single beer I didn't like from Paulaner. I will definitely keep trying more other German beers!

Copenhagen 24/12 2016. 50 cl bottle from Netto. Ancient Monk drinking beer with a very satisfied smirk on his face on the label.

Pours opaque hazy orange-ish yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as a 1 cm thick creamy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is intense with an odor of lemonade with hints of bubblegum mingling with tart fruity notes.

Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate.

Flavor is fresh and fruity. Medium sweetness followed by a slightly stronger tart sourness. Nicely balanced.

Not anything surprising - but a quite well balanced wheat beer. Well worth a smirk.

This beer poured with loads of enduring foam. Even from afar, a fruity, sweet aroma. Beautiful, hazy yellow-orange look.

The taste is fruity, somewhere between grape, lemon and slightly sour candies, with gentle hops caressing the back of the tongue. The sweet nature really brings out the hops quite a bit. A yeasty, fermented bread flavor closes the experience.

The body is moderate, and yet this is extremely drinkable and refreshing. Not too much bubbling in the palate.

This is a great beer, and good companion to your meat based food. It's a little pricey, but worth it indeed.

Pours a hazy dark gold color with a 2 1/2 finger foamy white head with nice retention and lacing. Has the classic Hefeweizen aroma of bananas, cloves, and bubblegum. There is also a light smell of oranges. Very nice. Tastes just like it smells. Light sweetness balanced by a peppery hop bitterness. Very nicely done. Medium bodied with above average carbonation. A very nice beer. Not sure why I waited so long to try this.

One of my all time favorites, a legendary brew.

Sweet, drinkable, heavy but in a good way.

Most cruise ships have a poor selection of beers beyond the standard AAL s, but I saw this on Star of the Seas and had to try it. Good idea. It's the best wheat beer I've ever had. Gold yellow ,cloudy with decent carbonation. Smell was heavy banana, some bread too. A very smooth, easy to drink beer that is proud to be heffeweisen. This beer deserves it high rating. No American wheat beer that I have tasted comes close

Delicious.
I’m not a regular Hefe-Weisen drinker, but this becomes a new favorite go-to spring-summer brew.
Beautiful pillowy head. Smooth sipping from a standard pint glass.
I’m currently traveling through several western states - I’ve discovered that a leading grocery chain is currently offering 4-packs of (1 pint, .9 oz) cans at a great price.
Excellent way to celebrate early Spring.
