I had this beer on-tap in a half-liter glass at Paulaner Bräuhaus in Munich.
Appearance: medium gold with a dash of haze and lots of effervescence. Head is a thick finger of ivory foam.
Smell: a nice yeasty aroma, characteristic of the style. There’s a nice maltiness as well. I like it.
Taste: like the aroma, a lovely yeastiness combines with a rich but not too sweet malt in a great way. Noble hops add an assertive but balanced bitterness. Very good.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a good creaminess.
Overall: really really solid zwickbier. No surprise there, really!

Pauline Bräuhaus "Bräuhaus Zwickel"
4,20€/,5l @ the brewery on 20 September 2017
Notes: 40 days of Lagering. Hallertauer hops. Hazy deep amber beneath a dense head of creamy white foam. Excellent head retention and lacing. The aroma is lightly sweetish and lightly caramelish with some floral and lightly herbal hops. The flavor delivers grainy and caramelish malt and leafy, herbal, and mildly fruity hops. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp, and it's balanced by a median bitterness that leads to a short lingering, dry finish. Overall it's very nicely balanced and very easy to drink. Superbly brewed.
