Lübeck 15/4 2019. 40 cl bottle from Rewe, Sandstrasse, Lübeck. Elegant bottle with white print on the bottle with the Characteristic, aristocratic silhouette.
Pours hazy, pale yellow with a fairly big white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam. Clinging to the side of the glass. Substantial Lacing.
Aroma is sweet and very malty. Bready with white sugar and some odor of something akin to stuffy refrigerator. Light sharp citric notes.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by a more moderate but notable bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light bitter undercurrent. Lingers for a bit.
Pretty true to the style but from the sweet side of the Street.

Clear golden color with white head. Aroma has sweet, bready malt notes and a hint of honey. Taste follows, sweet and bready at first, slightly bitter on the finish. The malt feels quite heavy and the bitterness on top doesn't improve the drinkability at all.

From the bottle, it pours a lovely, hazy golden amber with a nice head. Lacing. Fresh scent in the nose, with some grain and hops. Soft mouthfeel, with a slight bite from the hops and carbonation. Yum!
