I think the Weiss gold is a pretty new brew at Paulaner's; I bought my 33cl bottle from
Brotzeit, a German Bar and Restaurant located at Vivo City. This Kristallweizen pours out
a bright gold with minimal head and heavy carbonation. It has a light smell of lager and
wheat malt and it's taste is mainly wheat with an addition of a slight lagerish taste an
feel at the finish of every mouthful. The downside is the watery nature of this weizen which
naturally translates to a watered down taste and a rather thin bodied mouth feel. It's
carbonation was a little too high and this inevitably lowers the drinkability slightly. The
after taste was made up of mainly nice wheat malts with a dash of citrus and I found that
rather pleasant. This Kristallweizen is really light in terms of ABV, viscosity and mouth
feel and feels relatively refreshing. More than a tad too light for me and again too highly
carbonated, in my opinion.
