Solid brown color. Appears to be cloudy. Of white hear that settles to rim bubbles. Streaks and spots on the glass for lace.
The nose features a very deeply toasted malt, bordering on burnt. Yet, there's some sweetness that gives real balance.
There is a strong caramel base but this also has a strong bitter hop kick in the swallow. It's almost a black IPA tastewise. The aftertaste brings back a bit of the sweetness. Quite complex.
