On tap at SLO Brewing Company in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Pours a clear light orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy latticework of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Downtown brews pale ale is probably their best beer. It has a nice floral hop smell. The taste also give a floral hops, and a good amount of bitterness, It finishes with a sweetness that I think works well for the floral hops, and is pretty characteristic of downtown brews beers.
Its mouth feel is probably the worst part, it is to harshly carbonated and doesn't fit in with what i think they wanted to accomplish with this pale. However for $1 per pint on Tuesdays and $2 dollar almost every other night, I can drink it all night.

Appearance: Clear copper body with thin, loose, white head. Not lacing and very little retention. I might be a little off in this category as it was pretty dark inside.

Smell: Pine, herbal hops, honey and caramel malt. Pretty light in intensity.

Taste: Fresh, floral hops, pine and herbs. Pretty hop-centric, but surprisingly tasty. Most of the beers I've had from DTB have been... well... not good. Caramel malt also present.

Mouthfeel: Sticky, light-medium carbonation, and smooth. Medium-bodied.

Drinkability: Best beer I've had from DTB thus far. I was impressed. Pretty smooth and hoppier than I'd expect. Tastes fresh and natural. Give it a try!

This ´Pale Ale´, from SLO is to me the second best ale they have to offer, if you like a smooth mild ale with just a slight bitter after taste. The aroma is of hop´s and a hint of spices. I´ve tried this beer in the bottle and it does not compare to the on tap version!
