I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: light golden hue with a clear body and a thin layer of creamy white foam. Not bad.
Smell: light, grainy malt aroma. Simple but nice.
Taste: light malt with a distinct graininess. Hops are minimal with an earthy character. Not too bad.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and nice creaminess.
Overall: a simple golden ale, but refreshing and satisfying

My first pint of Ellersick ale called forth a curious fruit bowl pungency with a wafting hint of grain as a tooth-white cap of suds topped a laceless straw bale colored body. The beer's taste was defined by a spry fruity essence suggesting kiwi and tangerine, followed by a dry, graphite finish.
Modest golden ales don't ordinarily appeal to me, but this one was well presented and managed to hold my interest.
