Though a fragrance and taste of banana shine through on this clouded wheat beer, it's not necessarily a Bavarian-style hefeweizen. A deep inhalation reveals notes of honey and a light swampiness that doesn't seem out of place. The combination of dilute fireweed honey with exotic fruitiness briefly hints at a Belgian-style spiced wheat beer.
Honey Wheat arrives with a blinding white head then lingers like a rag on the tongue. Its benign simplicity is ultimately quite workable.
