Had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: rich dark brown with a finger of super creamy tan foam.
Smell: sweet malty aroma with a nice bready character. A bit on the mild side, though, intensity-wise.
Taste: nutty and caramelly malt character. A bit sweet with low bitterness; this beer is decent but tastes more like a brown ale than a Scotch ale.
Mouthfeel: medium body which is super smooth and creamy. Excellent!
Overall: a decent beer if not particularly to-style. Still, I like it.

Day old growler drank with dungeness crab outside on a miserably hot bay.
Initially, I poured this straight out of the fridge, which was far too cold, maybe half a finger of head. After letting it sit for five minutes, I set in. Tons of walnut and some sour spice I cannot pinpoint. Fairly low carbonation. Very, very drinkable at room temperature.

Smoky moreso than peaty with haunted lace on a dark mahogany body and no particular smell. The flavor is a bit awkward with its herbal mulch qualities. Certainly it's not traditional. The taste is dusty, punky, and challenging to warm up to. Not bad, but ambiguous and indifferent.
