Had this on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery. The brewery calls this a "dark German ale".
Appearance: dark brown hue with a petty clear body. There's a thin layer of tan foam which is leaving a nice lace. Not too bad.
Smell: lightly chocolatey malt aroma with a hint of estery sweetness. Quite like a dunkel lager, really.
Taste: lightly tart with a sweet, malty backbone. Hints of chocolate and just a dab of banana. Interesting, but the tartness seems a bit messy.
Mouthfeel: medium light body with a moderate carbonation. There's a decent creaminess here.
Overall: not bad, but like I said the flavor is a bit messy. Worth a try, but not a favorite.
