Poured from a 12 oz. To a pint glass. The cloudy liquid is a medium dark yellow. A plain white yet very fluffy head. Not exactly what I had expected and a little disappointing.
The smell is very faint, not much to go on a little spice is all I get.
The taste is a little much better, kind of interesting. A sweet spicy mix of malt and some kind or tangy taste.
Mouthfeel is not so good kind of lays on the tongue like soda-pop, also thin yet buttery.
Drinkability is surprisingly not so bad, you could section this beer and not get sick of it. Many more much better beers out there for the price I will not buy again, but if it was mixed in with a bunch of macros at a party and I grabbed on that would be great. MK

Nice clear light gold with a decent white head and nice active carbonation. Nice light grainy malt aroma and flavor but not far off of a good macro; some adjunct-like character. Medium-light bodied and pretty smooth but nothing special.
Pass.

Poured a dull hazy golden color with a moderate white head that fell to a thin coating. Nice lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell is a bit suprising with a summery fruity scent, and a bit of yeast that are a nice combination. Taste is very light, and a little sweet note. The aroma comes through with each taste and the enjoyment continues. The finish is somewhat thin, with a only mild sweetish taste that quickly is gone. A very nice beer. Not exactly what I expected, but nonetheless pretty good.

Pours a two-finger white head that fades quickly but leaving a good lace. Clear, pale amber color. Slight hoppy nose. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Starts on the sweet, bready side but the finish shows the hops. 12oz bottle from 12pak - $15.59 Tully's Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

Really not too bad of a beer here. Definitly one of the better american macro lagers I've had, if thats saying much.
It has a pale golden yellow color with a huge foamy pure white head that actually sticks around for most of the beer.
The smell is sweet and subtle. Not a bad smell like other beers of this style, but just kind of plain and boring.
Compared to other macros, it tastes terrific. I can actually detect a little bit of hop flavor and it lacks those crappy bready/watery tastes. In the grand scheme of beer this really isnt much, but I'm impressed considering its style.
Mouthfeel is nice and full. Not heavy by any means, but its not real watery like I had expected. Carbonation is a little wild though. A fairly drinkable beer.

Pale golden in color-not as "bright" and golden as some macros can be. Low aroma-not much there really. Just says "beer". Taste is somewhat bland. Soggy cardboard tasting.Very "grainy" flavor wise. Ok mouthfeel for style. Not a lot here. As a big Bud fan I'd skip this one for sure. Nothing here worth trying even for a macro drinker.

Pours a pale, pale straw with a fluffy white head of mixed sized bubbles that dissipates leaving a smattering of tiny bubbles skimming the surface. Some carbonation streams find their way to the surface. The Smell is clean and vaguely sweet. Initially sweet with some crispness, it finishes with gentle hops. Mild carbonation, medium body, simply ok. The underlying structure is the same as the other Scrooge and Marley offerings.

Much like my fellow reviewer battlekow, I saw this when searching for a variety case to drink with the guys for today's big Villanova hoops game and thought, what the fug is this? Never heard of it. $20 for the case? What the hell.
Starting off with the lager; golden color, giant cascading bubbles keeping the thin white head alive. Sweet, musty aroma. Astringent and sweet throughout, with some malt flavoring and a very mild hop note. Finishes dry with flavors of sweet corn. Carbonation lags towards the finish at which point it coats the edges of the mouth. A standard no-frills lager.

A Scrooge & Marley mixed case showed up at the store the other day, and none of us, nor Beer Advocate, had ever heard of it. The bottle says it's from the "Scrooge & Marley Brewing Co., Monroe, WI" and that it is from a group of "limited edition seasonal brews from one of the oldest breweries in America." Well shit, who hasn't heard of the famous S&M Brewery? Coincidentally, the Huber Brewery is also in Monroe and also touts itself as one of the oldest breweries in America. And what's this, written very small on the bottom of the box yet mysteriously not found anywhere on the bottle labels? Ah yes, www.scroogeandmarleygifts.com. It's beginning to come together: Gift company contracts with Huber to brew some name-brand beer to sell through their holiday catalogues to unsuspecting old people. Onto the mysterious beer itself...
The New London Lager is your basic macro lager, pale gold with a big, fluffy, no doubt chemically-enhanced head. Smells a little skunky, like a Euro lager. Tastes is sweet like corn syrup, with a touch of mustiness and astringency in the finish. Not a bad macro lager, but there's no earthly reason to seek this out when BMC is banging down your door.
