Well I like most hops, as they are all really the same and this was no exception. Have been to a few over the years, and this Hops seems a bit more crowded then the rest. Once you get in there is a lovely view of the tanks and the bar is a few steps up on your right. The usually selcetion of hops brews is there to be found, I always find my way to the Hammerhead Red. Food as always is excellent, albeit a bit pricey, but I love the inlay on the table, just something about eating with hops on your table! Overall this was like the rest, a quality restaurant that just happens to make their own brew too.

I visited this place several years ago. I wanted to go back to see what I missed the first time. The bar is elevated somewhat. There was not too much of a selection of beers except house brews. There was the typical BMC. The brew tanks are attractivley presented behind glass in the middle of the resturant. The food is pretty good here. The nachos are outstanding. I would return here again. A nice brewpub for a chain. Not your hometown brewpub, but a good effort nonetheless. They offer growlers here too. The nice brown growlers. I brought one back to NC.

This is one of favorite spots in Spartanburg where I live. It's fun and inviting, with good service and great food. The only reason I scored the food a little low, is the price factor. I feel it is a little bit pricey for what you get. Selection is just a little above average. Very good steaks, chicken, seafood prepared average style with no bells or whistles. They do have a grilled meatloaf that is great! They have 4 main beer choices brewed right there in a enclosed glass room that you can watch the guys attending to while eating. They also have one other "Seasonal" beer that is mostly a varation on one of their normal beers, however usualy 2.5 - 3.5 BA stars in quality. I do recommend going there, and my favorite beer is the Aligator Ale!

I almost always like the chain Hops. They have fresh beer that is usually pretty good, and food that is good as well. This was no exception. I chose to have a cheeseburger. Sandwich was cooked to order and correctly and had an alligator porter. Both were quite tasty. I ended up leaving with a growler of the porter.
They have four beers on draft. An amber ale, a porter, a pale ale, and a macro type lager.
One drawback to these places is that the server usually isnt very knowledgable about the beers on tap. And they serve beers in frozen mugs. I dont know why a brewery would do that; I guess to appeal to the masses. But it was next to impossible to get a room temp mug. The guy had to go all the way in the back, rustle around in the basement, and bring out a mug.
I usually go for the growlers of beer. Food is good as well. Be ready for a frosted mug. They always have drink specials too.
