Bottle was a 2006 GABF left-over that was given to me as a reward for my volunteer efforts. Thanks a million to GABF and to Flathead for the opportunity. pours a full finger of soda head that hangs a very short while. Crystal clear gorgeous brown/brown-amber liquid. Smells toffee roast and scortch. Dry chocolate.
Tastes butter and caramel. Almonds. A bit of sour and dry chocolate. Roast finish is a bit too black patent for my taste. It could be scorch...it's a bit astringent. Md-heavy mouthfeel and moderate but sharp carbonation.

Stumbled across this small microbrewery and tasting room on our recent trip through Montana and had to sample each of their 3 offerings.
Named after the great train lines that developed Montana, and after Bigfork's adopted sons from Nashville, the band "Last Train Home."
Served in a logoed Flathead Lake pint glass, this is a beautiful amber colored ale, with a thin off white cap of foam.
Lots of smells come through including a blend of hops and malty sweetness. Taste is also well balanced, not to much bitterness, and lots of caramel sweetness. It seemed a little thin, and kind of basic. A good adaptation, and nice fit with their other offerings that include a pale ale and porter.
If you are headed past Flathead Lake, definatley worth a stop.
