Very nice clean Weiss Belgian Sour. Crisp and refreshing. Recommended by Veronica at Carmella's Plates and Pints.

Served on draft w/ sour cherries. Pour is fine. Aroma is mostly flat but you get some wet chaff & some artifical cherry juice. Sorely lacking in tartness & body (thin, no crispness or snap), nothing off-putting but just bland & lifeless. You get a little of the cherry juice but not much else, and I was definitely disappointed by the lack of tartness

Hazy pale gold color with a creamy seafoam head. Looks refreshing.
Thick wheaty nose with a sweet-tart element of lacto and lemon. Hint of unripe peach and yeast phenols. Lightly medicinal. Pretty righteous.
Penn amps up German charcter in this one. Lots of wheat malt with some grassy wilted hops on the side. Semi-dry and lightly tart. More stone fruit pucker and lemony nuances. White peach, faint spearmint, and lacto push. Reasonable brew.
Drinks light and easy. Carbonation is medium to restrained; perfect, because it allows the tartness to take effect.
Pretty good effort. I taste Penn Brewery's fingerprints all over this beer. A good Berliner.

Brewed for 2014 Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week.
Pours a golden color with a white head. Plenty of lace and soapy froth.
The aroma smells wheaty and funky, but more than funk. Smells like eggs or spoiled meats. Whew. Who farted? On a serious note, this is a byproduct of the sour mash and bacteria that lend the amazing flavor.
The taste is tart and lemony with a nice malt body as well. Lactic twang with plenty of semi sour notes. Ghost like hop bitterness and herbal note. Little buttery flavor, mainly just a little malt and some tartness.
Light to medium bodied feel with a slight sour note in the finish. Medium carbonation.
Overall, this is a pretty nice berliner weissebier from my local German specialists Penn. Not the best, but defintely Worthy.
