LOOK: From the tap it pours a rich amber brown color with a fine clarity.
SMELL: The nose is greeted with some soft fruity aromas, sweet roasted malts, lager yeast
TASTE: Upfront flavors are rich and malty. Some tasters have detected raisin and dark fruits. Brown sugar, caramel, low bitterness. There is a toasted edge to the malts. Rich and satisfying flavors.
FEEL: Medium to full bodied, solid feel. Well carbonated.
OVERALL: Glad to see Penn bring this one back after some years of being retired. A tasty, accessible dark lager that would be a solid compliment to grilled pork.

Strange I'm the first to review this beer, I wish I had taken more detailed notes. On-tap at the brewery.
A nice rich mahogoney color with ruby highlights and a white head.
Smells very sweet, malts with caramel and molasses.
Taste follows smell. A nice, rich and sweet flavor. Notes of molasses and caramel, just a slight roasted character. Actually has a somewhat dry finish. Medium bodied, good carbonation.
Pretty good beer overall, I hope others agree.
