Cloudy russet red-brown. Big sudsy head. Looks creamy and delicious.
Sweet ripe banana, dark wheat, burnt sugars, clove, wheat bread, and a hint of light citrus. Very pleasant.
A little thinner in flavor, but still carries out dark wheat, ripe banana, malt sugar caramelization, clove, light toffee, and dried fruits. Light metallicism in the finish.
Creamy body with an elegantly easy and smooth carb level. Very drinkable.
Great dunkel. One they should make more often.

Penn Dunkel Weisse
Pours a rich brown with a soapy off white foam. Aroma of banana and clove, caramel and wheat. In the taste, banana bread, caramel and mild spice. Low hops, which are tea like. Lots of wheat and Munich malts but balanced by the noble. Effervescent well carbonated . Bit of brown sugar.
Overall: Another fine German style beer from Penn. The weizen is one if my favorite beers, and this Dunkel is comparable. A one off brew for now, I hope they decide to brew this again.
