On tap at their brewpub.
Updated 01/21/09: Please note that this is no longer Central Waters brewpub, so you will not find this beer here anymore.
This is a lot darker than the non aged version, dark brown, almost black with a dark tan head that is a bit thin.
The same nice aroma, rich, fruity and malty, sweetish at times, along with some oak and vanilla notes, particularly as it warms up.
Medium bodied, smooth, and easy to take down, this one is slightly less balanced thatn the original, which is odd, but still quite good. Mostly malts, fruity but it feels heavier on the alcoholic bite and spiciness, with a dry and slightly off aftertaste.
Good, but there are a few off tastes here that deserve a revisit.

Central Waters does a bourbon barrel version of half their line-up (and usually intensely bourbony), which is great, because I love anything barrel-aged, but not so great in that many of them start to taste similar. Still, this was very good, and different enough. Big bourbon aroma and taste, with some backtaste of almost buttery caramel and a sweet nuttiness. Hard to identify this as a Scotch ale but well call that an example of creativity. Recommended.
