Had this on-tap from a tulip, as well as from a growler. It forms a 1/8 inch off-white head the leaves a pleasant lacing. It is quite light and almost a tea color, light copper. Carbonation is visible.

The aroma is quite good. There is a large sweet and malty taste the hides most of the alcohol. The sweetness is like a sugary candy with some dark fruits.

The taste is very similar with a lot of dark fruit/candy sweetness up front. The alcohol is a little more present. An oaky flavor smooths out some of the sweetness and adds some vanilla.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a good balancing dose of carbonation. It is a bit syrupy but leaves a warm and spicy feel at the end.

Overall, this is a very easily drinkable beer and perhaps dangerous in some ways because the alcohol is reasonably hidden but definitely there. It is a bit unusual for a quad but very good.

Had on tap at the Blue Heron, poured into a tulip

A- I was quite surprised when this was brought out to me. Very light in color, a golden orange with a nice one finger head. I don't think I have seen a quad this light.

S- Some dark fruits and a little bit of a sweet spice. It reminds me more of DFH 90 minute than it does a quad. Also some of the alcohol is uncoverd.

T- I picked up some fruits like dates and apple. A bit of caramel and some alcohol in there. Also a little bit of syrupy sweetness. Also some oak or some other kind of woodiness. They said it had been aged a year and I think it did the beer some good.

M- A nice medium bodied brew. Pretty smooth and very little warming from the alcohol. A little lighter than it's darker counterpart but pretty good.

D- Went down pretty smooth and only got better when letting it warm. A pretty good offering but I don't know if it totally fits the bill of a quad. May be more of a hybrid than just one style.

This one came out Thursday, picked up on a growler Friday, notes from the same night.

It pours a copper, very light tan head, good retention and lacing. Not truly the same color expected for a strong dark ale, but that still semed to be the best classification.
Aroma, just like the taste, is predominantly malty, sweetish and toasty, with lots of candy and fruity notes, some light honey, and well hidden alcohol.
A light vanilla, oaky notes suggest barrel aging which I am not sure actually occurred.
Medium bodied, as mentioned did not fit well any classification, but it is well worth it. Easy to drink.
