Brown caramel color, quite dark, and quite hazy. Light brown head, beautiful, creamy.
A good dark malt in the nose, some caramel, roast, hazelnut, and vanilla.
The taste is very smooth, again a godd maltiness, not overwhelming, again roast, and notes of hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla.
In the aftertaste a strong roast, on all. Still very smooth, and pleasant. Again chocolate and vanilla.
Good.

On tap at the brewpub in Murnau am Staffelsee, halfway between Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Wednesday, June 1. Each of the four of us in my family had a half liter of one of their beers. This review from notes made by my son.
A nice-looking mahogany beer under a birght white and bumpy head that lasted the whole glass. Nice lacing, but not very sticky.
A smooth, rich taste, but not heavy or chewy like a D-B. Moderate bitterness from the noble hops balances the malty sweetness well. Good character and depth.
Very smooth mouthfeel, with a dry hoppy finish. Really drinkable.
