Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown, nearly black color with a one finger height head of thick tan foam. The head has a great level of retention, fading slowly and leaving tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rich of a chocolate ad maple smell mixed with a strong showing of vanilla and molasses. Other smells of coffee and crème and some of toasted brown bread and wood are in there as well, creating a rather rich smell overall.
Taste -The taste starts with a big roasted and toasted bread flavor mixed a decent showing of coffee and chocolate. Other notes of vanilla and crème are in there as well, adding a latte like dimension. All the while, there is a strong sweetness of both maple syrup and brown sugar, with other notes of toffee. Upfront there is also some light wood and char flavors, which as the taste advances on the tongue, seem to fade. While the char and wood fade, the sweet amps up a bit all with a touch of smoked nut joining in and leaving one with a very almost cloyingly rich brownie-maple-latte like taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is quite thick and viscous with a subtle and gentle carbonation level.
Overall – Very big and thick, even while only at 7 %. A nice sipper if you want something very sweet.

This is a much stronger and richer version of the Kanc Country Maple Porter listed on BA.
A rich and robust yet extremely elegant black amber colored porter. It looks like an Imperial Stout yet it is very easily drinkable for a 7%er. Dangerously drinkable hahaha. Roasted malts balanced out with unimposing maple syrup sweetness.
5 points all around. Definitely will buy again!
