330ml bottle, poured into Stone snifter.
A: Amber, slightly hazy, no real head or lacing.
S: Oak and lactose.
T: Toffee, caramel, peat, milk chocolate, oak and finished with a hint of smoke, not overly boozy for the high abv.
M: Low carbonation, medium to light body, slightly thick texture, but not as chewy as some other high abv beers.
O: Overall pretty decent, a warm weather beer which went down pretty well in the heat.

Now named Scotch-Ale. Unsure if the recipe had changed.
Thin, one-finger head that lasted less than a minute and left no lacing. Clear golden color. Earthy peatiness mingled with sweet, bready malt aromas. No hop character in the aroma.
I've had this once before when it was still named Whisky-Bier, and the aroma seems more subdued than I remember. This one has been cooled though; the other had not been.
The taste is definitely scotch-like smokiness with a sticky, vanilla sweetness too. The scotch flavors are not harsh, quite smooth really. Not cloying, but I think it would be better with some hop bitterness to help balance the sweetness.
Not much carbonation. Body is medium and coats the palate with sticky sweetness.
Overall, while certainly not a complex beer, and although the 9% ABV is there, it is very drinkable in its simplicity.

This beer is bullshit. The taste is horrible and I hope whoever came up with the recipe dies.

T/F:
