Translates to "beach-robber". Made from 50% banana juice, the rest is Weizen.
Sounds odd, but a summer beer, and I really like Weizen's with a more pronounced Banana character, so I hope this isn't too sweet.
Pours a suprisingly typical Weizen color. Actually quite nice. Cloudy, amber-golden, thick head rising out of my Weizen glass. Medium carbonation-so far so good.
Smell different than expected. The banana note is there, stronger than normal, but plays a more background character, more of the base aroma. Typical Wheat tartness, sour hay, and yeast. However as the beer warms, the banana smell becomes much stronger. Still, not too sweet smelling. Well balalnced and not the glass of banana puree' I was dreading.
definatley a bit sweeter than a normal weizen. Banana is now much more predominate. Sugary banana, yeast, ends lightly sprtig that cuts through the sweetness a bit. After taste of banana and a bit sticky.
I like the idea to accent the banana character normally in Wheat beers, and I think one of these on a blistering hot summer day would taste wonderful. It is for me a touch too sweet, so I think more than one would be a bit too much. Not as bad as I thought, but maybe I'll wait til next summer to try it again.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
