BeerNutta summed this place up pretty well, and i'd like to add some of my own thoughts to this place. I'm going to be nice too, but I really could rip this place if the mood took me.

Actually no i'm ripping it. This bar represents everything that's wrong with the Aussie/Melbourne beer scene. They put fake breweing equipment behind the bar, have one crappy lager style beer brewed for it which they well and truly overcharge for, and put themselves in yuppie central. What does that tell you?

What it tells me is that its trying to appeal to a bunch of wanna be beer connoisseurs who think they are 'cool'.

The environment looks more like a nightclub than somewhere to savor good beers (or even as a funky bar, like transport), its packed every time I go in there as its not exactly the hugest establishment i've ever been too, the music is always too loud, and the food, for what you're paying for it, is mediocre. The selection on tap is no better than anywhere else either, even taking into account their 'microbrewed' effort.

My advice to anyone coming to Melbourne and looking to go on a bit of a crawl, do not waste your time coming to this place.

I really wish I could slam Three Degrees simply because they are all style over substance. But then it wouldn't be constructive.

This bar has all the makings of a great brewbar but then it just goes and throws it all in the crapper.

For starters, there are massive brew kettles in the bar, but unfortunately its just for show. They do not brew a single drop. Its all gunn island. Maybe when gunn island stops brewing beer they might do some of their own.

They have one micro brew beer to offer, 3 clear. Other than that it is your usual pub/bar fare.

The food is not bad. Standard. All in all. Just your standard pub/bar in a yuppie surrounding.

A trendy, cosmopolitan bar with a decent quantity of taps (11) but somewhat low on the quality, in my opinion. Taps are Bohemian Pilsner, Redback, Beez Neez, Stella, Cascade Light, Carlton, Rooftop Red, Coopers Sparkling and Dark Ales and Kronenbourg. Pints are about $7 each. Moving onto bottles they've got Hoegaarden, Leffe, Asahi, Corona, Heinekin, Peroni and Guinness at $7 each (can you tell I took notes?!)

The bar's situated in the courtyard of Melbourne Central next to the library on the corner of Latrobe and Swanson. It's quite new and trendy-looking, and I can imagine it being quite popular with the suits after quitting time. I'm visiting at 3:00 on a Wednesday, however, and am the only one at the bar. Tough gig, this Beer Advocate stuff.

So...notice the word "brewery" in the company name? A bit of a misnomer. They've got a beautiful 3-story microbrewery in the middle of the bar but it's bone dry and (according to the bartender) has never made a drop of brew. It don't work!

Evident;y their house beer (3 clear lager) is brewed over in Middle Park by the Gunn Island folks. A beer bar it might not truely be, given the lack of diversity of micros, but it's definately got potential. Get those tanks working! I'll help!
