Appearance- The beer poured a deep murky brown color with a mocha colored head.
Smell - The nose was both woody and boozy, though neither overwhelmed.
Taste - My initial impression was smooth bourbon, followed by cherry, tobacco, oak, and silky chocolate. The beer was a little nutty with a pleasantly warming aftertaste.
Mouthfeel- The mouthfeel on this one was almost silky smooth. What a nice job!
Overall - Being a 2015 vintage (which I purchased in December 2016), I wonder if the cherry is supposed to be there. Still, the taste was not overwhelmingly off. I still enjoyed this beer a lot. As a suggestion to others, I would not cellar it too long.

500 ml bottle into a Pilsner glass. Bottled 11/25/14, bought 2/2016, had 6/16/16.
Looks like cola, somewhat opaque, with a small head on a hard pour, leaves a small foam ring. Smell is bourbon, malt, toffee, some vanilla and oak, light chocolate, some figs. The taste is strong bourbon, caramel, malt, figs, dates, vanilla, light chocolate. Smooth, good body, carbonation has faded somewhat.
This would be a very good beer, if it was closer to the bottling date and if it was cared for properly- outlined the brewpub leaving bottles in bright sunlight, in a different review. Good flavor and aroma, but loses the Doppelbock identity.
