Served in snifter on tap at the brewpub at cellar temp or a little cooler.

Dark amber color, slightly hazy. Thin, fine head.

Aroma is nice, piney hops combined with balanced maltiness.

Flavor is fairly balanced between bitterness and malts, true to style.

Mouthfeel would be better if the alcohol wasn't so evident. A bit hot for only 9% ABV.

All in all, a good sipping beer. Worth a try.

I had this at the Michigan Brewers Guild Winter Beer Fest and I went back for more of this one at the end (used up my remaining tokens).

I think it was actually 9%.

A: Dark amber/copper, nice off-white head.

S: Citrous & sweet caramel.

T: Fairly aggressive hop flavour, but not overwhelming. Mostly citrous, with a little pine (Amarillo hops). Plenty of sweet, caramel malt to balance the bitterness (Special B?).

M: Moderate body and carbonation.

D: Highly drinkable.

I liked it a lot.

Pours deep mahogany in color with a off-white thing ring of a head.
Aroma of deep chewy caramel and toffee and mellow spicy bittering.
Flavors of sweet malts abound but dont' go overboard as they cut off at the pass by some chewy and aggressive hops.
Mouthfeel is smooth and palate coating with a long lingering sweet aftertaste.
Drinkability is high. Great take on a DIPA as it doesn't take one side of the equation to far either way. Heavy dose of malt and hops, very drinkable if not a little little than many other of the style.
