Served on-tap in a 5-oz sampler tumbler at cellar temp.

Looks like a hefeweizen, hazy straw color, white foamy head leaving good lacing.

Nose is likewise that of a hefeweizen: phenolic, not so fruity.

Taste is dominated by the phenolic aroma, but flavor sneaks through as a basic light lager.

Mouthfeel is just fine.

Can't figure out why this beer is so phenolic. A lawnmower lager should be crystal clear and soapy, right? This is neither, and a lot sweeter. Hard to imagine the potent aroma is from a lager yeast. I liked this beer, but didn't think it was true to style. Hope that The Livery, experts at fine German beers, try their hand at a Kolsch as a lawnmower beer.
