Served in a 5 oz taster, fairly warm.
Appears dark orangish yellow, completely cloudy/opaque, slight fizz around the rim of the glass. Looks like mango juice.
Nose of a yeast sample, phenolic; conceals/overwhelms other aromas.
Flavor is moderate, suitable for the style, dominated by the strong nose. Mouthfeel is thick, not as fresh or light feeling as expected for a hefeweizen.
Drinkability is poor. This is my third (figurative) sink pour of 2007, the only one of the 6 in the flight that I didn't enjoy (or finish). Instead of Bier mit Hefe, this is Hefe mit Bier.
The entire rest of The Livery's line-up on tap is much better than this (better? "conventional" is more fair). My guess is that this is a revival of Old World style. But it's not advertized that way: "A lightly hopped, refreshing, Bavarian style wheat beer that has hints of banana and clove in the finish."

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
