Draft at The Livery.
Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt, citrus and wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met with another very good brew from this house.

I got a few pours from a growler of this on 12/5/08, reviewed from notes, thanks to WeeHeavySD for the opportunity, first beer tasted from this brewery, color was a darker amber with some brown tint, head slightly off white and about 3/4 inch, it did not last long and did not leave any lacing on the glass, smell was made up of brown sugar, oak, vanilla, citrus, bourbon, and caramel, taste was slightly sweet at times but it seemed to work out well, liked how it had a doppelbock flavor that molded into a woody barrel aged brew later on, this one tasted better once it warmed and even had some nice malty fruit and vegetable flavors, interesting brew overall, mouthfeel was slightly sweet and spicy, little boozy at times as well, taste lingered well, could have drank a few glasses of this and that says a lot for a brew over ten percent, glad I got to try this rarity, recommended

Sampled from Growler thanks to WeeHeavySD (thanks!).
Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of oaky woodiness, fruity, and citrus. Tastes of wood, lightly vinous, bourbon, fruity and some citrus. Finished on the sweeter side.

Amber colored elixir pours with nay a head and has an overall watery appearance.
Caramel malts with toffee and wood. A mushroomy aroma is very tantalizing and inviting.
Rich malty and full of toffee with a pistachio flavor on the finish. Somewhat thin in mouthfeel due to a lack of carbonation. For 10.5% ABV it is very well hidden. A hint of apple cider hits the middle with some more earthy notes the nose suggested that must have derived from the wood. Oaky with much in way of wood tannins.
Would have loved this and some of the others aged in bourbon barrels.
