Cask conditioned hand pulled at the Great British Beer Festival 2025 at Birmingham(Solihull) NEC centre
pours a golden amber coloured body with thick tight white head
aroma has yeasty peppery bitter promise
flavour gives a burst of slightly sweet malt before delivering a deft bitter finish

Bottle conditioned 500ml (best before Apr 2013)into a UK pint sleeve on a wet and miserable Friday afternoon (August Bank Holiday 2012): this is the first of a planned 'Random tasting session' incorporating a variety of styles, flavours and countries beers. Only me here so far.
Poured carefully so the sediment stayed in the bottle: good orangey, hazy body, loads of carbonisation bubbles rising to the full off-white foaming head.
Fruity and yeasty nose, oranges and apples come to mind.
The taste is fresh and tangy with a dry aftertaste: the flavours like the aroma are of summer fruits and yeastiness. Rye is used in the brew and it is a little 'grainy' I suppose.
The beer is pleasant without setting the world alight and I suspect the cask version is a lovely beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
