Tasted this beer at the Oakdale Arms pub in North London, during their minibeerfest in mid-November. It was served straight from the cask by gravity.
A: dark straw hued, no beer head which is normal, good clarity, ideal temperature, and low carbonation--just the thing you'd expect of a cask-conditioned ale served by gravity.
S: lemony zest dominates the nose, hand in hand with a vinous aroma, like a dry white wine made of muscat grapes, and a tinge of spicy character at the back. Very refreshing and hoppy.
T: very dry and hoppy with great amount of grapefruity flavour covering a soft texture of malts. Lots of fruitiness and zests on the palate, leading to a dry and hoppy finish.
M: extremely light in body, while being weak in bitterness; the mouthfeel is somewhat overly light and thin for my palate, but just about right for its dry-hopped characters and attenuated strength. A not bad session "golden ale/bitter".
