Ancient Egyptian 'Imperial Bread Beer'. Tried ages ago, reviewing from notes.
Pours a slightly pink-tinged orange colour, absolutely no head or bead to speak of. Seriously, I've seen more interesting-looking soft drinks.
Smells a little boozey, maybe a touch of tartness and some spice - star anise, peach and brandy being the dominant characters here. Some nice notes, but I've had more enticing smells. Not from soft drinks, though.
Taste leans far more heavily on tart, with a crisp, vinegar acidity, distinct citrus notes with a touch of ripe berries, vanilla cream and Granny Smith apples. Oddly smooth on the mouthfeel; quite full and creamy and doesn't mesh well with the tart flavour.
A really bizarre drop, that could give me a really great overall vibe if it didn't seem so confused, and even bipolar. Nonetheless, could drink it.
