330ml poured into tulip

L - mahogany, clear, a thin white lacing only

S - some caramel malts, whiff of whisky, nothing much to speak of

T - strong malt base throughout, loads of toffee, some dark fruits (prunes, raisins), english hop bitterness at finish

M - low carbonation, warming ABV - as if a shot of whisky has been added, slick, oily texture and finish

O - interesting as always from red duck, this is a better effort than some of their ancient beers (like RA for instance). Full credit is due for reviving these styles, but it reminds us why these beers were superseded years ago. Having said that, Rufus is worth a go, particularly if its a winter warmer. Maybe not worth a six pack though.
