Pours murky dark amber with a small quickly fading head.
Nose shows some banana esters and spicy cloves, somewhat like a dunkelweiss. Underneath is lighter sweet malt, more like a tripel along with cherries and christmas spices. Also quite noticeable is a dirty malt character. Very interesting, pretty full-on but a bit of a mess.
Similar problem with the flavours, but the dirty malt/fusels are more pronounced. Heaps of spices and alcohol.
Carbonation should be higher.
A good idea, but a bit messy.

Brewed with/by the Vicbrew 2009 Winner Robin Brown.
A - Poured into a tulip glass a hazy dark orange colour with 2 centimetres of slightly off white head that falls fair quickly.
S - Peach & pear fruity esters with some peppery & musky phenols initially followed by some candi sugar & malt sweetness. Spicy alcohol is there also.
T - Fruity esters also abound in the taste with some dry pepper qualities coming through. A lot of pale malt sweetness. Alcohol is also quite detectable in the taste.
M - Medium to high carbonation with a medium body & a bit of harash finish.
D - Well worth trying and well done to Robin Brown & big ups to Red Duck for supporting the homebrew scene. Just a bit too alcoholic & sweet for my liking.
