Purchased at the brewery in March 2026. Drunk maybe one month later.
Pours a pleasant, slightly hazy golden-yellow. It carries a thin but bright white head that leaves behind noticeable lacing as the level drops. A few steady columns of medium-sized bubbles move slowly up the glass. It looks very calm!
The nose is a subtle mix of nectarine and honeydew, over a sweet malt base. There is a slight, pleasant orchard yeastiness in the background and just a hint of mild, citric bitterness that rounds things out without taking over.
The palate mirrors the nose. Nectarine is the standout performer here, joined by soft notes of peach and more of that sweet honeydew. The bitterness is kept very low, allowing a tangy, citrusy aftertaste to follow each swallow. It’s remarkably restrained and dialled back, which is a welcome change from the often aggressive heft of modern craft pales.
The body feels a little thin for a hazy, but it’s consistent with the soft stone-fruit aesthetic and the mellow carbonation. While the finish is a little thin, it remains smooth and easy to drink.
This is a very approachable, drinkable hazy. It makes no attempt to punch into IPA territory, staying understated and soft from start to finish. While the slightly thin tail is a minor drawback, I’d happily have it again, but maybe as a session starter, followed by something with a bit more kick to get things underway.
Cheers!
