Poured from 500mL can into my Bierwerk Züri becher. Best by 12/16/26.
Appearance: dark golden hue with a clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. Darker than most pale lagers, but the brewer specifically calls this a pale and not an amber lager.
Smell: aroma is somewhat dry with kind of a neutral malt character. There's some yeastiness and a light, grassy hoppiness as well. It's not bad.
Taste: malt is sweeter than in the aroma, and the bitterness from the hops is pretty significant for the style. It's kind of like a hybrid between a pale lager, an amber lager, and a pilsner. It's not my favorite but it's decent.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a good creaminess.
Overall: I wouldn't make this my first choice for a Czech lager, but it's decent and I would not turn one down.
